"Situated off the east coast of Yorkshire, Bridlington is perhaps the best bay for sailboat racing on the whole of the east coast of England. With easy access from the end of the M62, it can be reached from the south coast within five hours travelling time.
The Royal Yorkshire YC is situated above the western end of the harbour, renowned for its hospitality and social programs.
The 159th Annual Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club regatta will run this year. A regatta has been held in Bridlington Bay almost every year, except for the war years, since the club moved there.
The regatta week attracts boats and sailors from many other yacht clubs, who this year will be welcomed to the RYYC’s 160th annual event. Yacht racing will take place in Bridlington bay every day starting with the fleet review in the presence of the lord mayor, followed by the ladies and cadet races.
The regatta as always will mix some hot racing with its legendry social programme, culminating with a grand prize giving.
Bridlington is a great place to race - a badly under-used venue - find out for yourself! Race" (source: The Daily Sail)
