Big G – Cyclosportive Cycle Race

Beverley and Yorkshire Wolds

30th July 2011

Big G Cycle Race

The inaugural event was held last year in memory of Graeme Forrester and was very well received by nearly 300 riders. This year we aim to increase participation to 500 riders whilst maintaining the excellent organisation that made last years race such an enjoyable success.

The 2011 Big G – Grimpeurs des Wolds Cyclosportive event is part of a weekend of top quality cycling being promoted by Hull Thursday Road Club over the weekend of 29th to 31st July 2011. The event is based in the Historic market town of Beverley and travels northwards onto the beautiful rolling countryside and steep climbs of the Yorkshire Wolds.

Three fully signposted routes are available 160 Km, 100 Km or 60 Km. All 3 routes have been chosen to take the riders through some of the best roads in this relatively undiscovered part of Yorkshire and feature stunning views of the surrounding valleys and vales. On a clear day both the Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors are clearly visible from the numerous high points of the route.
